Plainfield IN Real Estate and Community Information

Plainfield IN Real Estate and Community Information As a warm and welcoming Midwestern community Plainfield is a wonderful place to look for real estate. Let Jeneene West Realty introduce you to this charming city of approximately 28,000 residents. It's 15 minutes outside of central Indianapolis, but you'll feel like you've been transported back in time to a simpler era. Friendly neighbors, beautiful surroundings and lovely homes make this the ideal place to call home.

Delaware Indians were the first the recognize this area as a wonderful place to live. European settlers began arriving when Elias Hadley and Levi Jessup planned and incorporated the community in 1839. Early attempts at government didn't fare well, leading to abandonment of the original incorporation. Incorporation came again in 1904. The town's name is derived from the concentration of Quakers in the area. These so-called "plain" people led a simple but busy life. They established a library and the town's first high school. The community has grown and changed over the ensuing decades, but the high quality of life has remained steady.

At the Recreation & Aquatic Center locals gather to take classes, exercise and enjoy community events. People love the city's Splash Island Waterpark, which also boasts an indoor aquatic center.
